SOFLO CS2, a new tournament operator and community hub based in Southern Florida, has announced the SOFLO SLAM 2 tournament, offering a max prize of $1,280. This Unranked tournament, held in collaboration with SCL.GG, will feature up to 32 teams competing in a single-elimination Bo3 format with a scaling prizepool based on the number of signups. The prizepool is funded by signups, with spots going for $50 per team.
This announcement comes on the heels of SOFLO CS2's first event in mid-June, a modest seven-team affair with a prizepool of $50, limited to players based in Florida. For this second event, SOFLO CS2 is going nationwide, with the event open to teams across North America.
The head of SOFLO CS2, Slim, describes the initiative as a small project run by himself and a few community volunteers. With the founding of SOFLO in June, Slim hopes to increase the presence of Florida in the NA Counter-Strike landscape while running tournaments, watch parties, and other events primarily through their Discord (https://discord.gg/WXqzPG56pW).
Looking ahead, SOFLO CS2 aims to build up the Florida CS2 scene and collaborate with universities and LAN centers in South Florida to bring more events to the state and the wider region. This initiative follows FRAG's successful FRAG Miami 2 2026 event, which saw 26 teams converge on South Florida for a $8,000 prizepool.
